"One-Eyed Jack"

Watercolor and gouache
8.5 x 12
Jack was born on a
warm spring morning. His brothers and sisters arrived one after the
other, nestled close to their mother on a soft blanket. At first glance,
they seemed much like any other litter of kittens.
However, as the
kittens began to open their eyes and explore the world around them, it
became clear that there was something different about Jack: He had only
one eye.
That single eye sparkled with curiosity and mischief.
As
he grew, everyone wondered whether having only one eye would make life
difficult for him. But Jack never seemed worried or concerned about it.
He bravely explored his surroundings and was always the first to climb
bookcases or jump into laundry hampers. He never let his disability slow
him down.
Jack lived every day with courage, curiosity, and joy.
Even as the years passed, Jack never lost his adventurous spirit. Jack's bright eye was filled with gratitude, wonder, and a love for life.
And that was more than enough for a curious cat.
