Each Spring, Skagit Valley (near Mount Vernon, Washington) blossoms with daffodils, tulips, irises, and lilies. The acres of flowers attract many visitors who are drawn to the brilliant colors and beautiful scenery. Visitors also enjoy such festivities as the Tulip Festival Street Fair, art shows, wine-tasting, and the Anacortas Quilt Walk.
Bonnie Hodges has celebrated the Tulip Festival with three oil paintings, all of which have been very successful. "Skagit Valley Daffodils" won 3rd place and a cash prize at the 2010 Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show (Mountlake Terrace) in the paintings & drawings category:

"Roadside Daffodils in Mt. Vernon" was featured in the Bothell LiveArts Festival 2011 Juried Art Show and in the Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show 2011:
